LONDON:The British health regulator has granted its rejection of a proposed new weight loss drug called Orlistat. The British Medical Journal has contacted the regulator, who said the drug's label does not mention the drug's active ingredients.

Orlistat is a medicine which contains an active ingredient called Xenical. The agency has rejected the drug, saying it contains no active ingredient at all, and is not a controlled substance.

Orlistat has been approved by the FDA for use in adults over the age of 18.

It is the first approved weight loss drug for treating obesity in the world and is the first treatment approved for other indications in the world. Orlistat has been sold in over-the-counter stores and online.

It was first approved by the Food and Drug Administration on Jan. 27, 1999, and has since been available in the U. S. since. Orlistat has been available on prescription at most pharmacies and online.

The agency said it wanted to "assess the effectiveness of the drug" and that the drug was not likely to be given to a child under the age of 18.

"We believe that the agency's decision to reject this new drug will not be the first of its kind in the world," said Mark L. Gadde, director of the National Library of Medicine in the U. and director of the U. Consumer Health Products Administration.

Last year, Gadde stated he was looking for other drugs that are similar to Orlistat but that the agency is not likely to consider them.

"We are not aware of any other weight loss drugs approved by the FDA," he said. "But we have not seen any drug that is approved in the U. and that may not be in compliance with the FDA's instructions."

Orlistat is the only medication approved by the FDA for weight loss in the U. It was approved by the agency for use in adults over 18 years old.

The drug is not used for weight loss in the U.

Gadde said Orlistat does not appear to be a controlled substance.

Orlistat was approved by the FDA for use in adults over 18 years old.

The drug was originally marketed in the United States but was discontinued in the U. in 2004.

Gadde said the drug is not currently approved for weight loss in the U. and that the drug may not be given to children under the age of 18.

Gadde said that he has not seen an advisory to the FDA in the last 12 months. He said the agency does not have any information about the drug's use in children, and that the drug's labeling does not clearly state the medication is not intended for use in children.

Gadde said the drug was not marketed in the U. and that the FDA is not advising consumers to "stay vigilant".

Gadde said the drug was approved in the U. and the drug is available in the U.

The FDA is not advising consumers to check with their physician or pharmacist for a prescription for Orlistat.

The drug has not been approved by the FDA for weight loss.

A spokeswoman for Dr. Mark Gadde said the agency is not advising patients to consult with a physician to determine the drug is not for weight loss.

A spokesman for the FDA said, "We do not know of any studies in the U. to support the safety of Orlistat, but it may be appropriate for patients to seek advice from a physician in a U. hospital."

and that the drug was not likely to be given to children under the age of 18.

The FDA has not responded to requests for comment.
